I graduated in Physics with honors from the Federico II University of Naples, with a thesis on stellar activity and the PhD in Natural Sciences with specialization in Astronomy and Astrophysics, at the “Georg-August-Universität” in Göttingen, Germany, with a thesis on the solar chromosphere carried out at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research.
